Quick Chicago work trip

In early May I had a quick two-day work trip to Chicago. It's one of my favorite cities, with great architecture, cool neighborhoods, and the awesome lakefront. Since I was working and my meeting was in downtown, I didn't really have much time to explore, but I was able to take a boat tour in the evening with colleagues. The day I arrived was very foggy and chilly, and then the next day was sunny and warm, providing a great contrast. My meeting was on the 99th floor of the Sears (Willis) tower, so I had some great views! On to some pictures:

South Michigan Avenue in the clouds.

Spring in Chicago!

The cool meandering metal bridge over Columbus Drive.

Millennium Park.

Of course I stopped by the bean!

The fog provided some cool photo opportunties.

The city in the bean.

Fog and seagulls.

The lobby of the Chicago Athletic Association building

So much great architecture in Chicago!

The Calder Flamingo.

The Sears tower rising into the clouds.

More cool buildings.

This one has been converted into apartments.

An owl on top of the library.

Walking to my meeting in the morning.

Hey, it's the Chicago River!

Lets head up there to the 99th floor....

Cool cloud patterns over Lake Michigan.

Such cool views with the low-level clouds!

Clouds over the lake and the skyscrapers south of Grant Park.

River North in the clouds.

Starting to burn off in the sun.

And it's clear!

Gorgeous spring day.

Time for a river/lake boat evening tour.

Chicago flag from the boat.

I love these boat tours.

The lighthouse and the skyline.

Lighthouse, skyline, and sunset.

Heading back into the river.

Tribune Tower from the river.

Dinner at Ema. It was delicious.

Chicago - Leslie's Bachelorette Bash!

Our friend Leslie is getting married! Thankfully, it's to a wonderful lady named Lauren! Lucky for us, Leslie agree to let David and our friend Shayna plan the bachelorette party. We surprised Leslie with a trip to Chicago to watch the Atlanta United play back in early June. Nine people went in, only eight returned....nah, just kidding, everyone's still alive ;)

Here are some pictures from our super fun Chicago weekend full of shenanigans, soccer, food and feels for Leslie!

Three cheers for the bride to be, taking a bite out of Chicago!
Special props to the party co-planner, Shayna!
Looking good, Chicago!
Architectural boat tour, highly recommended! I think this is our third time.
Planners pointing at things
Geez, tough crowd!
They warmed up with booze!
Who pizza-beared it best? Consensus opinion is Landon won this round!
Liquid dinner at the Parlor Pizza Bar in Wicker Park
She drank the entire thing by herself! *cough*
If this isn't Leslie and Lauren's wedding cake, we're going to be super upset.
On the way to the Atlanta United game, we visited the bean!
Getting to the game required lots of transit...like trains...
and a bus!
Go Atlanta! Unfortunately, we lost this game.
Didn't lower our spirits though!
Special bachelorette drink at Broken Shaker!

Sharing is caring.
Mmm...drinks!
Fancy little cocktails!
Landon looks like he's about had it (he was faking, he's always up for a 2nd round)
After the storm, breakfast empanadas!
Last shot of the crew!
That's a wrap on Chicago!
