Quick Chicago work trip

In early May I had a quick two-day work trip to Chicago. It's one of my favorite cities, with great architecture, cool neighborhoods, and the awesome lakefront. Since I was working and my meeting was in downtown, I didn't really have much time to explore, but I was able to take a boat tour in the evening with colleagues. The day I arrived was very foggy and chilly, and then the next day was sunny and warm, providing a great contrast. My meeting was on the 99th floor of the Sears (Willis) tower, so I had some great views! On to some pictures:

South Michigan Avenue in the clouds.

Spring in Chicago!

The cool meandering metal bridge over Columbus Drive.

Millennium Park.

Of course I stopped by the bean!

The fog provided some cool photo opportunties.

The city in the bean.

Fog and seagulls.

The lobby of the Chicago Athletic Association building

So much great architecture in Chicago!

The Calder Flamingo.

The Sears tower rising into the clouds.

More cool buildings.

This one has been converted into apartments.

An owl on top of the library.

Walking to my meeting in the morning.

Hey, it's the Chicago River!

Lets head up there to the 99th floor....

Cool cloud patterns over Lake Michigan.

Such cool views with the low-level clouds!

Clouds over the lake and the skyscrapers south of Grant Park.

River North in the clouds.

Starting to burn off in the sun.

And it's clear!

Gorgeous spring day.

Time for a river/lake boat evening tour.

Chicago flag from the boat.

I love these boat tours.

The lighthouse and the skyline.

Heading back into the river.

Dinner at Ema. It was delicious.
