New York Soccer Weekend!

David's soccer team goes to an indoor soccer tournament almost every year. We've been to New York City several times, but this time David's sister joined us. It was her first time visiting as an adult. So we did some of the classic tourist things - Central Park, the Guggenheim, Times Square, and the 30 Rockefeller Center observation deck. But really the main attraction of New York City is just walking around and taking in the street life and architecture. And then of course there's the food! We had some great ramen at Cocoron Noodle Bar, empanadas from Empanada Mama, cookies from Silver Moon Bakery, and tasty snacks from Momofuku Milk Bar.

While David was playing soccer, Paul and Christina went off and did some more touristy things - including riding coasters at Coney Island, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, visiting the new 9-11 Memorial at the World Trade Center site, and walking on the Highline.

A trip to NYC isn't complete with a show!  Paul and Christina also went to see "We Put the Spring in Springfield", a live Simpsons cabaret show that was amazing. And Gabourey Sidibe (star of the movie "Precious") was in the audience. Whoo-hoo for celebrity sightings!
